Mozart Requiem Will Get Double Exposure

Share

The Pacific Chorale will sing Mozart’s Requiem less than two weeks after the Master Chorale sings the same piece in the same venue during the chorales’ 1990-91 seasons at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.

The Master Chorale, which announced its season last week, is scheduled to sing the Requiem on April 14, 1991; the Pacific on April 27.

Both groups will be observing the 200th anniversary of Mozart’s death.

Pacific’s music director John Alexander will conduct a three-concert season at the Center:

* Oct. 30, 1990; 8 p.m.: Leonard Bernstein’s Missa Brevis; Samuel Barber’s Agnus Dei; works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, other composers.
