Beauty Pageant Adds ‘Screen Test’

The search for Miss Montebello 1990 is under way with a new category added to the competition.

In addition to the interview and evening gown segments, this year’s pageant, scheduled Oct. 6, will feature a spokeswoman “screen test” category to “showcase individual on-camera broadcasting skills and techniques,” said Simone Stephens, pageant coordinator.

The competition is open to single women ages 16 to 23 who are residents of Montebello. Applications are available at the Parks and Recreation Department office, 1700 W. Victoria Ave. The filing deadline is June 30. For information, call Stephens at 887-4540.
