Anesthesiologist Files Antitrust Suit: An antitrust and breach-of-contract suit was filed by an anesthesiologist, Dr. Jayson A. Hymes, against Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Beverly Boulevard Anesthesiology Associates. The U.S. District Court suit claimed that Beverly, which provides all anesthesia services to the medical center, refused in March, 1990, to renew Hymes’ contract allowing him to work at Cedars-Sinai. The suit claimed that Hymes’ unjustified firing prevented him from practicing his speciality in Los Angeles. The suit asked for more than $3 million in damages. (Filed June 13, 1990. Case No. 90-3043)
