National Semiconductor Corp.: The Santa Clara computer chip maker said earnings fell 94% to $4.7 million in the fourth quarter compared to the same period in 1989, but noted that the previous year’s figure included a one-time gain of $174.9 million from the sale of National Advanced Systems. Fourth-quarter sales totaled $456.3 million, up 9% from 1989.
