Audio Visual Reports Loses Court Case: A company that videotapes and sells copies of television news programs must pay a Los Angeles free-lance journalist $20,000 in damages for violating copyright law, a federal judge has ruled. U.S. District Mariana R. Pfaelzer found that Audio Visual Reports had violated the copyright of video journalist Robert A. Tur by selling television news reports that contained Tur’s footage. Tur had sold the footage to the stations but not to Audio Visual Reports, said his attorney David Ganezer. Audio Visual Reports plans to appeal the ruling.
