The Lynwood City Council has approved a $10 increase in hourly litigation rates for the city attorney and a $5 hike for his associate.
City Atty. Henry Barbosa’s litigation fee goes from $120 hourly to $130. His associate’s fee climbs from $110 to $115. The fees apply only when there is special or court litigation. Barbosa receives $100 an hour for his regular duties. The fee hikes become effective July 1.
During the meeting Tuesday, Mayor Robert Henning announced that Lynwood is one of five cities to recently receive a national award from the U.S. Conference of Mayors.
The city received the award for establishing the Youth Commission last year. The commission is composed of young people who advise the council on programs for youths.
