Pinch-hitter Shawn Abner doubled home Mike Pagliarulo in the 11th inning, and the San Diego Padres beat the San Francisco Giants, 4-3, Wednesday.

Pagliarulo led off the inning with a triple off Steve Bedrosian (3-4). Abner then doubled off the glove of right fielder Rick Parker to score Pagliarulo.

Craig Lefferts (5-1) earned the victory with 2 1/3 scoreless innings. He pitched out of a 10th-inning jam by retiring Will Clark and Kevin Mitchell.

The Giants put runners on first and third with one out, but Lefferts got Clark to ground into a fielder’s choice as shortstop Garry Templeton threw out Brett Butler at the plate. Mitchell lined out to third to end the inning.

Greg Harris pitched the 11th inning for his fourth save.

Four San Diego pitchers combined to hold San Francisco to three hits.

Despite their second consecutive loss, the Giants have won 16 of 19 games in June.

The Giants, who had a nine-game winning steak snapped by the Padres Tuesday night, tied the score 3-3 in the seventh inning when Matt Williams scored from third base on an infield single by Jose Uribe off reliever Calvin Schiraldi.
