Imperial Savings Put Into Receivership: The San Diego-based thrift, seized by federal regulators earlier this year, was placed in “pass-through” receivership, then was immediately put back into conservatorship and renamed Imperial Federal Savings Assn. The move was designed to relieve Imperial of unwanted liabilities so it would be more attractive to prospective buyers. It has no effect on Imperial’s customers, employees or 79 branches.
