NRA and Guns: Why Doesn’t the Press Discuss Car Control?

Share

Eric Lichtblau should study history and the First and Second amendments to the Constitution. Without the Second Amendment, there is no protection for the First.

A free nation has the right to bear arms. Check the rights of our neighbors and of those countries behind the Iron Curtain. What was one of the first actions of the KGB when Lithuanians declared separation? To demand that all weapons be turned in, even the registered, legal guns held by the sporting clubs.

Reporters should be concerned. If there is no citizen strength to keep the government in check, there is no one to protect your rights to write your opinion. Do you think you could freely express yourself in Cuba? Or how about some of the South American countries? They would not allow and do not allow freedom of speech.

I will not try to convert Mr. Lichtblau to the NRA or attempt to change his outlook on the present situation of the U.S. government. But he should learn from the experience of others and history. In all areas, you will find that the control of the government was obtained after they confiscated the weapons of those they wished to control.

And look at the facts; gun control has nothing to do with crime control. A criminal has no interest in registering his weapon.

Our law enforcement agencies cannot stop the influx of illegal drugs and people into the country. How are they planning to stop illegal weapons? They cannot.

Our need is to enforce the criminal laws. Give the judges who are lax in their courts the boot. Punish the criminal and remove him/her from society, but do not punish the citizen who either enjoys hunting or wishes to protect his family and property.

Statistics show that there are thousands of children killed and mutilated in vehicle accidents, the second largest killer of children under the age of 16.

Do you see my point of view? Tragedies happen every day with any type of item. I know. I am a safety engineer.
