NAMES IN THE NEWS : Seger Pushed Abortion, Ex Says

Bob Seger’s former wife says in a lawsuit that the rock singer assaulted her after their divorce and pressured her into having an abortion.

Annette Seger’s suit, filed June 22 in Oakland County Circuit Court, said she told Seger she was pregnant about two weeks after the couple divorced on Nov. 8, 1988. It says Seger allegedly told her that he would make her life “a living hell” unless she had an abortion.

The suit also claims Seger provided no help or comfort to Annette Seger before, during or after the abortion, although they were living together. The Segers were married in Las Vegas in November, 1987.

Frederick G. Buesser III, an attorney who represented the rock star in his divorce, said he couldn’t comment on Annette Seger’s allegations because he hadn’t seen the suit.

The suit also claims that Seger threw his ex-wife against a cement wall on Jan. 26, 1989, after she walked out of a nightclub they had entered together.
