SIMI VALLEY : Car Overturns in Pass, Snarls Traffic

Share

A 19-year-old woman escaped serious injury Wednesday when the car she was driving overturned on the Santa Susana Pass portion of the Simi Valley Freeway, snarling morning rush-hour traffic about two hours, authorities said.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Rocky Peak Road in Simi Valley, California Highway Patrol Officer Jim Utter said.

Adrienne Harris of Simi Valley was apparently trying to pass another vehicle when she lost control of her car and hit the center divider, causing the car to flip over, Utter said. Motorists had slowed to watch a car fire on the shoulder of the freeway.

She was taken by ambulance to Nu-Med Regional Medical Center in Canoga Park, where she was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
