Another letdown. "Singer and Sons" is just one more "Chicken Soup" type of show pretending to give the public an honest look at a Jewish character.
Is it so impossible for television executives to create a show with a true-to-life, contemporary American Jewish family (sans the immigrant Jew with the stereotypical accent) that deals with the same issues tackled by the Seavers, Hogans or even the Huxtables? Why is it such a problem?
Television executives owe the public more respect and reality. They can use the medium to educate people rather than perpetuate the same old stereotypes that can lead to prejudice.
