Lotus Sues Two Software Makers: Lotus Development, encouraged by a court victory last week, charged that Borland International of Scotts Valley, Calif., and Santa Cruz Operation Inc. of Santa Cruz are violating Lotus’ rights to the commands and memory structure of its flagship Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet software product. Borland responded to Lotus’ suit with a counter motion seeking declaratory relief that its Quattro Pro does not infringe the 1-2-3 copyright.
