Craig Fields Will Join MCC Corp. as President

Craig Fields, who stepped down as director of the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency in a dispute over the Bush Administration’s role in promoting high-technology research, has been named president, chief technical officer and chief operating officer at Microelectronics & Computer Technology Corp.

Austin, Tex.-based MCC is an eight-year-old research consortium designed to enhance U.S. competitiveness in defense and high-technology industries. It currently has 21 shareholder companies and 24 associate member companies.

Fields, who currently serves as deputy director of defense research and engineering at the Pentagon, will assume his new duties July 9.
