A re-creation of famous events in American history, sculpted from 380,000 pounds of sand, is at the center court of Santa Anita Fashion Park through September.

The sand sculptures include a 20-foot-tall replica of the Statue of Liberty, and life-size figures of Thomas Edison holding a light bulb and Alexander Graham Bell making the first telephone call. Abraham Lincoln is posed at a podium reading the Gettysburg Address.

Events to be held in conjunction with the display include a program by the Talent Towners, ages 8 to 18, who will sing and dance at 1 p.m. Saturday. From noon to 2 p.m. July 14, 20 children from the Foothill Academy of Gymnastics will perform routines on mats and the balance beam.
