As the No. 1 rental on the Billboard magazine chart, “Back to the Future Part II” may soon be history. “Tango and Cash” (No. 2) and “Steel Magnolias” are rapidly closing in--with “Tango” most likely to swirl to the top of the rental chart. “Always,” directed by Steven Spielberg, wasn’t expected to do spectacular rental business, but the romantic drama, starring Richard Dreyfuss and Holly Hunter, has been climbing steadily up the chart, this week moving up four rungs to No. 6. Also doing good rental business: “My Left Foot” (No. 10) and “Music Box,” starring Jessica Lange as an attorney defending her father from charges of Nazism, charges, which climbed to No. 17. “She-Devil,” with Meryl Streep and Roseanne Barr, entered the chart at No. 19 and should make the Top 10 in the next week or two.

* Kathleen Turner and Michael Douglas play the unhappily married Roses, who pulverize each other in director Danny DeVito’s black comedy of marital warfare., which was a big hit with movie audiences. “War” debuted at No. 7 on the rental chart and just may battle its way to No. 1.
