COUNTYWIDE : Auction-Dance Is Charity Fund-Raiser

The second annual Orange County Tennis Auction Ball will be held July 28 and 29 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

The event begins with a black-tie dinner dance, silent auction and entertainment at the Radisson Plaza Hotel in Irvine. At that time, participants can bid on 24 pro-amateur tennis teams, with the highest bidder becoming the team “owner.”

The winning owner will be awarded more than $1,000 in prizes.

The tournament will be held at Los Caballeros Sports Village in Fountain Valley.

Amateur players are invited to play with professional tennis stars. To participate as an amateur, call the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Last year, the event netted $35,000.

Cystic fibrosis is the No. 1 genetic killer of children and young adults.
