Pic ‘N’ Save and Girard Extend Pact: Discount retailer Pic ‘N’ Save Corp. and Girard Partners, an investment group pursuing the company, agreed to extend until July 29 the period during which neither group would seek support from shareholders. Pic ‘N’ Save and Girard, led by La Jolla financier David H. Batchelder, said they agreed to the extension to give potential bidders, including Girard, additional time to put together proposals. The previous deadline was Sunday. Pic ‘N’ Save also postponed until Aug. 29 its annual meeting, which had been slated for Aug. 15.
