Prices of corn futures sank to their lowest levels in three months on the Chicago Board of Trade, reflecting forecasts for more good growing weather and a lack of strong export demand.

Other grain and soybean futures also ended lower.

On other commodity markets, energy futures rose sharply, hog futures soared, cattle futures were mixed and precious metals retreated.

Corn futures settled 6.25 cents lower to 1/2 cent higher, with the contract for delivery in July down 5.50 cents at $2.735 a bushel.
