Share

An attack squadron of F/A-18 Hornet jets will practicing takeoffs and landings for two weeks beginning today at the Pacific Missile Test Center in Point Mugu.

Today’s half-hour practices are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

The exercises are planned at least three days a week until Aug. 3.

Beginning Thursday, the sessions will begin at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day until 8:30 p.m. The times may change slightly due to operational needs or weather conditions.

In the past, the annual exercise has prompted telephone calls from residents who wonder if the increased activity on the base is a cause for concern, Navy officials said.
