Ameritech: The Chicago-based company, parent of five Bell companies serving the Great Lakes region, reported record second-quarter net income of $352.3 million, up 11.3%, on revenue of $2.7 billion, a 5% increase. The firm cited continued growth in its Bell and Enterprise companies, including increases in customer telephone lines (2.9%) and mobile lines (42%).
