KTLA (Channel 5) will offer a prime-time newscast closed-captioned for the hearing impaired, it was announced today by the independent station’s news director, Warren Cereghino. “News at Ten” will be closed-captioned seven nights a week. “This is another of KTLA’s commitments to the community we serve,” Cereghino says, “similar to when we began simultaneous Spanish interpretation. We want to keep the hearing-impaired viewer better informed.”
