Country music singer Holly Dunn says her style of music has gotten a big boost from the White House.

President Bush is a fan who has said he listens to country music on the radio and has country tapes in the Oval Office. Earlier this month, he invited Grand Ole Opry stars to perform at the economic summit in Houston.

“He’s done us a real favor,” Dunn said Tuesday in an interview. “He’s really into it. Jimmy Carter liked country, too.”

Dunn’s hit records include “Daddy’s Hands,” “Are You Ever Gonna Love Me” and “Only When I Love.” In 1987 she won the Country Music Assn.’s Horizon Award as the most promising performer.
