Chrysler to Consolidate Jeep Production: The nation’s No. 3 auto maker said it will consolidate North American production of its Jeep at its Toledo, Ohio, assembly plant, closing another plant in Brampton, Ontario. It said the move to consolidate Jeep production is part of a tentative agreement reached with the city of Toledo and the state of Ohio. Details of the agreement were not announced, and the pact is subject to final approval by the city and state, Chrysler said. Under the plan, North American Jeep production would be consolidated beginning in the summer of 1992.
