Nine men and one woman were charged Friday with producing hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine at the largest lab ever discovered producing the illegal drug in California, officials said.

The 10 were charged with one felony count each of manufacturing methamphetamines and one count each of possession of the drug for sale, said Sandi Gibbons of the district attorney’s office. Prosecutors sought bail of $2 million for each defendant.

Four of the defendants were arrested Wednesday during the raid on a single-story San Dimas house, where authorities seized an estimated 700 pounds of methamphetamine, a powerful stimulant known on the streets as “speed.”
