Brakes Blamed by Driver in Truck Crash Fatal to 8

GASSAWAY, W.Va. —
A truck driver whose rig careened into two cars at an Interstate 79 construction site Thursday evening, killing eight people, blamed failed brakes for the fiery crash, authorities said Friday.
The driver, Manuel Cruzado Jr., was charged with six counts of negligent homicide. No further charges were planned until all the victims were identified.
