Sellars to Return: Peter Sellars, executive director of the Los Angeles Festival, is returning to town today after being abruptly called to Austria a little more than one month before the festival opens. Sellars had to go on a 10-day working trip to Vienna to edit his five-hour video of Handel’s opera “Julius Caesar.” The video was shot in February and March in Berlin by the German production company Mediascope. According to an L.A. Festival spokesperson, the project’s European release is slated for the fall, and a U.S. release date has not been set.
