From Times Staff and Wire Reports

The House passed legislation requiring food labels to list the amount of fat, saturated fat, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates, sugars, dietary fiber, protein and calories in the product. The House approved the bill on a voice vote and sent it to the Senate. Manufacturers now must list ingredients on labels, but nutrition information is required only when a nutrition claim is made.
