Roseanne Barr may not have won any fans at the ballpark last week, but she still packed ‘em in on ABC. Her comedy series was the week’s most-watched TV program, according to ratings released Tuesday by the A.C. Nielsen Co. It was seen in about 13.4 million homes. Of course, that was the night before she sang the National Anthem at Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego. Meanwhile, ABC tied NBC in the weekly network race, as each posted an average 8.9 rating, compared to CBS’ 8.4. The combined network ratings were the lowest since the weeks when the Democratic and Republican presidential nominating conventions were held in 1988. Together, the three attracted only 51% of the prime-time viewers for the week. The full list of ratings is on page F10.

* Fox has enjoyed some major ratings successes in recent months with “The Simpsons” and “Married . . . With Children,” but two new series entries bombed in their first outings last Wednesday. “Glory Days” ranked last among the week’s 90 prime-time programs and “Molloy” placed 89th. Each show was seen by only 5% of the people watching TV at the time. And “The Simpsons”? It finished 20th with an episode being shown for the third time.
