Share

A man posing as a customer robbed a jewelry store at gunpoint Tuesday and escaped with an undetermined amount of merchandise, police said.

The holdup occurred at 11 a.m. when the bandit entered Jewels by Mondonna at 1280 Bison Ave. and ordered the two employees to the rear of the store, where he tied them up, police said.

The robber then grabbed the jewels and fled through the back door, police said.

A few minutes later, one employee managed to free himself and activated the alarm.

Police patrol units and a helicopter searched the area but were unable to locate the robber.
