SHORT TAKES : Rolling Stones to Play in Prague

PRAGUE, Czechoslovakia — The Rolling Stones will play in Prague for the first time as part of festivities marking the country’s freedom from communism.
President Vaclav Havel, who led last winter’s anti-communist revolution, is a fan and wants to meet Mick Jagger and other members of the band, an aide said today.
The concert is scheduled for Aug. 18, the last stop on the Stones’ “Urban Jungle” tour.
The Stones will perform three days before the anniversary of the 1968 Soviet invasion of Czechoslovakia.
The concert was scheduled then so “it could be a great celebration of freedom and the defeat of evil powers,” said Jiri Ruzek, the show’s Czech promoter.
