Pay for Aides--The ABC Unified School District will pay part-time instructional aides $510 to $621 a month during the new school year. An Aug. 2 story in The Times on the training of aides to help emotionally disturbed students incorrectly stated the pay rates.

The aides will work in the classrooms and on the playgrounds to control the anger and outbursts of emotionally disturbed children, officials said. The aides will be paid from $1,359 to $1,656 a month and will work about three hours a day.

The firm’s fees will remain at $100 per hour until July 1, 1991, then will increase to $105 per hour for the remainder of the contract. The board also agreed to hire district resource specialist Marion Lahmani as the coordinator of special programs and services. Lahmani’s new duties will include coordinating the Gifted and Talented Education program, extended day care and Head Start programs.
