Share

The Camarillo City Council on Wednesday awarded eight developers allotments to build 400 houses and condominiums in the city, with Los Angeles home builder Pardee Construction Co. winning the largest share.

Pardee received 141 allotments, and the other seven developers shared the remainder of the 400 allocations allowed each year under Camarillo’s growth limits. The allocations enable the developers to build housing units or sell lots for houses during 1991.

With its allocations, Pardee Construction Co. plans to finish its Fairfield III development with another seven units, ranging from $275,000 to $310,000 in price. The development is situated south of Mission Oaks Boulevard. The company also received 33 allocations to complete the Montelena I tract north of Mission Oaks Boulevard, with the final 33 houses ranging from $277,000 to $350,000 in price.

Pardee plans to add 48 houses to its Mariposa Valley tract south of Upland Road, with prices ranging from $300,000 to $375,000.

Pardee also received allotments to build another 53 condominiums in the Capri development. Units range from $250,000 to $300,000 in price.

Spanish Hills, a planned complex of large lots for houses, condominiums, golf course and country club in the hills of Camarillo’s northwest end, received 112 allocations. Ninety-eight allocations are for lots with prices beginning at $275,000, and 14 allocations are for a planned condominium project the developer hopes will eventually total 60 units. Condominium prices will begin at $350,000.

Barclay Hollander received 57 allocations to finish its Miramonte condominiums at Camarillo Springs Road.

Other home builders awarded allocations include Ticer, which plans to build eight houses from $450,000 to $500,000 in price; K&G; Enterprises, which received 24 allocations for lot sales ranging from $250,000 to $300,000; KNM Development, which plans to sell 16 large lots north of Santa Rosa Road with it allocations, and Guyer Companies, which plans to use its allocations to subdivide its property into 32 lots selling from $500,000 to $800,000.

Presley of Southern California had asked the council for allocations to build 117 houses, but withdrew requests for all but 10 to finish its Las Posas North project.
