Bail Revoked for Two Held in Pastor’s Death

Two Northridge college students whose bail had been set at $20,000 in the shooting death of a Pacoima pastor had their bail revoked Friday after authorities discovered the two were arrested in May for carrying a semiautomatic pistol with a silencer in a city park, officials said.

Philip J. Dimenno, 19, and Dana L. Singer, 18, were in custody Friday night after San Fernando Municipal Court Commissioner Richard L. Brand’s decision to revoke their bail. Singer, a pre-business major at Cal State Northridge, and Dimenno, who has been accepted to UC Santa Barbara on a scholarship, were arrested in the July 28 slaying of Carl White. White, 54, was pastor of the Apostolic Temple Church in Pacoima.

Police said Singer shot White in the back of the head during a dispute over a minor traffic accident.
