Albert Rose; Helped to Develop TV Picture Tube

Albert Rose, 80, whose research led to the development of the TV picture tube. Rose joined the Radio Corp. of America in 1935 after receiving his Ph.D. in physics from Cornell University. His research into converting optical images into electronic signals led to the development during World War II of the picture tube, or image orthicon. In Newark, N.J., on July 26 of lung cancer.
