In his review of “Whale Music” (by Paul Quarrington; April 15), Tom Schnabel refers to the film, “Bird,” and states that the film maker “. . . got the details right: the white Berg Larsen mouthpiece . . . “ In this he is in error.

There is no white Berg Larsen mouthpiece. Larsen mouthpieces are either black (hard rubber) or silver (stainless steel). Charlie Parker’s mouthpiece of choice seems to have been the Otto Link. . . .
