William and Ethel Tibbetts of El Monte...
William and Ethel Tibbetts of El Monte have been honored by President Bush for their volunteer work on behalf of the disabled. The couple were named as Bush’s 208th “Daily Point of Light” in a program to honor exemplary public service or volunteer work. The designation has been issued six days a week since November.
The Tibbettses have volunteered for the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Network since 1986. They spend nine hours a day assisting disabled veterans by providing transportation, visiting them in their homes and phoning them to be sure they receive the help they need.
