Adjustment to Keys

Susan Sachs’ story, “Expansive Beauty of Florida Keys” (July 8), is factually incorrect when it states that Card Sound Road, an alternate route to the Florida Keys from mainland South Florida, is a “narrow road that winds and twists” and that the alternate is “a slightly longer, slower” way to reach the Overseas Highway and the Florida Keys than the principal artery, U.S. Route 1.
In fact, Card Sound is as straight as Anita Bryant says she is. And while it is indeed longer, it is often the more expedient route to the Florida Keys.
