Waste Disposal Antitrust Suit: A class-action suit filed in U.S. District Court accuses a major provider of waste disposal services, Laidlaw Waste Systems Inc. and its subsidiary, GSX Corp., of federal and state antitrust violations. Lok-Fast Inc. of Newport Beach claims that from early 1985 until 1989 the defendants and unnamed co-conspirators allocated among themselves Orange County customers for commercial and industrial trash hauling services at artificially high prices. The suit, which seeks unstated treble damages, was filed on behalf of at least 500 entities who bought the services and who allegedly lost the benefits of open competition. (Filed July 31, 1990. Case No. 90-4041)
