Expanded Use of PCs Explored: PictureTel Corp. of Peabody, Mass., and Intel Corp. of San Jose said they will work together for the next five years to create products that combine video, audio and traditional data operations, plus video-conferencing activities on desktop computers. The firms hope that the new technology would allow simultaneous use of both the multimedia applications and video conferencing activities. Currently both technologies are relatively new and untested, particularly on personal computers.
