21 Missing After Ships Collide Off Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan —
A fishing boat carrying 50 people who were being forced back to China rammed into a Taiwanese navy patrol ship and sank, and 21 people from the fishing boat are missing, the navy said Tuesday.
The navy ship was monitoring the forced repatriation of the illegal aliens from mainland China. In a news release, the navy said the accident occurred at 10:05 p.m. Monday when the Chinese vessel, Min Ping Yu No. 5202, sailed “irregularly” and slammed into the patrol ship.
