Ill-Conceived Cuts

Gee, the “Deuk” must be planning to move out of state after leaving office.

Making a $61-million budget cut in our mental health program is frightening enough to make you wonder. It seems he’s more interested in our “fiscal health” being in “Triple-A mint condition.”

Along with his other cuts in education and veto for the Child Abuse Prevention Training Act, there is a direct parallel with our rising inmate population and our welfare recipients who are growing faster than our own population.

I can’t see how we can afford to continue ignoring these issues plaguing our state.

A retrenchment of these funds will only continue to have dire consequences.
