Kevin Williams, who started at guard in nine games for the UCLA basketball team two seasons ago but played only 19 minutes last season, will forgo his senior season to concentrate on academics, a UCLA spokesman said.
Williams’ role was expected to be reduced even further this season, when the Bruins will have their top three guards from last season--Darrick Martin, Gerald Madkins and Mitchell Butler--returning, and will add highly regarded freshman Shon Tarver from Santa Clara High in Oxnard.
