William C. Homeier of Van Nuys, who was retired from the laundry business and drove a limousine for several years, has died at Beverly Manor in Van Nuys. He was 94.

Born in Crown Point, Ind., he died Tuesday of cancer, said Louise Homeier, his wife of 65 years.

Homeier and his wife were married in 1925 and decided to make their lives in California. In 1929 they moved to Glendale, and in 1930 they moved to the San Fernando Valley where they lived for 60 years.

He worked in the laundry business for Hollywood Laundry and retired after 21 years. During several years in the 1940s, he also chauffeured a limousine for Tanner Motor Livery and drove for celebrities, including Bette Davis. “She used to use that company and would specifically request him. She would tell them to send him or don’t send anyone,” Louise Homeier said.

He is survived by his wife, who lives in Van Nuys; a son, Kenneth Homeier of the San Joaquin Valley; and a grandson, William Homeier of Sepulveda.

A funeral service was held Friday at First Lutheran Church of Van Nuys. Arrangements were handled by Praiswater Funeral Home in Van Nuys.
