Controversial Health Secretary Louis Sullivan
Sullivan is Dr. Black/Mr. White.
As the kind doctor, he defends public health policies based on (White House Chief of Staff John) Sununu extremism (arresting HIV-infected travelers) and George Bush backpedaling (women’s control of their own bodies).
As the mean mister, he warns poor folks to reject national health care because it will deliver inferior service (to those who presently have none at all).
Sullivan fluffs his resume at the expense of integrity. With one AIDS death every 10 minutes, Sullivan should stop mugging for cameras and start apologizing for failure.
