Mail Boxes Coast to Coast Reports 2nd-Quarter Profit

Mail Boxes Coast to Coast Inc. in Encino reported a second-quarter profit of $105,412, contrasted with a year-earlier loss of $203,939.

The company is an area franchisee of Mail Boxes Etc., which oversees a chain of postal service outlets. Mail Boxes Coast to Coast attributed its profit in the quarter that ended June 30 to its recent sale of its Long Island, N. Y., franchise to Mail Boxes Etc. for a net gain of $251,255.

Mail Boxes Coast to Coast, which plans to focus on its Los Angeles County outlets, said its second-quarter revenue rose to $151,386 from $102,327.

For the first half of 1990, the company earned $63,432 on revenue of $377,975. A year earlier, it lost $425,243 on revenue of $181,890.
