UPS Cited for Job Safety Violations: The government proposed $280,000 in fines against United Parcel Service for failing to notify the Occupational Safety and Health Administration about a job-related death and failing to record more than 100 other injuries and illnesses. UPS also failed to record the number of lost workdays caused by the injuries, the agency said. OSHA said the alleged violations took place at the company’s Watertown, Conn., facility. A spokesman for UPS, the nation’s largest package delivery company, said there would be no immediate comment.
