Quiksilver Earnings Riding High; Third Quarter Reported Up 37%

Quiksilver Inc., the Costa Mesa-based designer of beachwear and casual clothing, reported third-quarter earnings of $2.6 million, up 37% from $1.9 million for the corresponding period last year. Sales for the quarter ended July 31 rose 28% to $24.7 million from $19.3 million.

Nine-month earnings totaled $7.6 million, up 41% from $5.4 million in the year-earlier period. Sales increased 32% to $72.6 million from $54.8 million.
