Two gang members were sentenced to prison terms Tuesday for the 1989 murder of an 18-year-old Tujunga man.
Hector Hernandez, 19, of Sun Valley and Efren Alavarez, 20, of North Hollywood pleaded guilty July 23 to killing Thomas Francis Langton as he ran from a Sun Valley party in May, 1989.
According to police reports, Langton was at a party in the 7500 block of Cartwright Avenue when he was chased and attacked by a group of youths believed to be gang members.
Police said Langton was beaten and kicked by the youths before he was shot several times in the upper torso.
Alavarez, the gunman in the incident, was sentenced to 17 years to life in state prison for second-degree murder.
Hernandez was sentenced to seven years for voluntary manslaughter.
