L.A. County Redistricting Put on Hold

Share

It’s beginning to look like a circus act with our so-called reorganization of the supervisorial districts. Do we really need this archaic form of government called counties and cities varying in size from minuscule to monstrous?

I know we don’t like to look at other government organizations but do we need to have nearly 2,000 major taxing agencies in California, more than 1,200 school districts, more than 400 cities, 58 counties and the state?

If we divided California into local authorities of approximately 250,000 each, it would give us roughly 100 close-to-the-people local authorities and would provide direct minority representation.
